How is traffic crossing into Canada from the U.S.?

For border information, tune your radio to 96.5 fm

There are three border crossings from St. Stephen to Calais. Two on Milltown Blvd. and one on Highway #1.

Citizens of the U.S. do not require passports to enter Canada, but must have personal identification such as a birth certificate or documentation proving status as resident alien, but do require a passport to go back into the U.S.

To enter the U.S. you do require a passport. Check with the nearest Canadian Consulate office.

Where is St. Stephen and how do I get there?

St. Stephen NB is located in beautiful Charlotte County. In the southwest corner of New Brunswick.
~~coming from McAdam, Harvey, Fredericton area? travel south on #3 Highway to the traffic circle, continue straight down King St. Downtown you will find many free public parking lots. Signs are posted.
~~coming from Pennfield, Saint John, Sussex, Moncton? Travel West on #1 Highway to the first St. Stephen exit. Continue straight down King St. Downtown you will find many free public parking lots. Signs are posted.
~~coming from the United States? Crossing into Canada from Calais...after clearing Canada Customs, turn right onto Milltown Blvd. You will be in the heart of St. Stephen NB. Continue on Milltown Blvd, and you will see many free public parking lots. Signs are posted.

What is Chocolate Fest?

Chocolate Fest is a celebration of community, of seeing and enjoying old friends as well as making new friends. It is the celebration of over 130 years of chocolate and candy making in St. Stephen by Ganong Bros. Ltd. Through chocolate themed dinners, lunches, special displays, tours, childrens events, and with our wonderful mascots, The Great Chocolate Mousse and his lovely wife Tiffany, we strive to make Chocolate Fest a wonderful experience for young and old.

When is Chocolate Fest?

Chocolate Fest is always held the first full week in August.

Can we purchase Chocolate Fest souvenirs to bring home to our family and friends?

Absolutely! We have available for purchase many items, including t-shirts, chocolate scented pencils, crayons, water bottles and buttons. Merchandise available at our Chocolate Fest office, located in the Visitor Information Centre.

Can we purchase Ganongs Chocolates?

Absolutely you can. In the heart of downtown, visit "The Chocolatier". An old fashioned chocolate / candy shop located in the original Ganong chocolate factory. Here you can purchase hand-dipped chocolates, sugar-free chocolate, chocolate covered cherries, chocolate nougatine, chocolate bark, our famous pink chicken bones. You can also purchase all of the wonderful candy and mints that Ganong manufactures. Gift baskets and specialty items also available.

Is the "old factory" still in use?

Yes it is. It houses "The Chocolatier"- THE place in town to purchase all of Ganong product. The Chocolate Museum and Discovery Centre- a fabulous place! A recent expansion and major renovations now provide the public with a close up view of the art of handdipping. Many new interactive displays and a gift boutique. Ganong Place is also the new home of St. Stephen Town Hall. THe 4-storey building is home to private residences and many businesses.
